EXECUTIVE TEAM
President and Chief Executive Officer
Edward B. Silverman, CPP

Mr. Silverman has been President and Chief Executive Officer of SOS for the past 32 years. He attended the University of Maryland, John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Backster School of Lie Detection. He is a licensed Private Investigator, Certified Polygraph Examiner, and Certified Protection Professional. Since 1986, Mr. Silverman has been a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, International Security Management Association, World President’s Organization and the National Council of Investigation and Security Services. He is also former chapter chairman of New Jersey’s Young Presidents Association.
Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Barry A. Frank. Esq.

Mr. Frank has been the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of SOS for the past 23 years. Prior to SOS, Mr. Frank was an associate and partner, respectively in two mid-town Manhattan, New York law firms.  Mr. Frank graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA Degree and earned a JD Degree from Loyola University School of Law. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar, a licensed Private Investigator, Member of American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and Former PBA Attorney.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Kenneth M. Fisher, CPA

Mr. Fisher has over 25 years of financial, operations and general management experience working with public and private companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Fisher was a Senior Manager with a major national accounting firm and earned a BA Degree from The University of Maryland and an MBE from The University of California. Mr. Fisher is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California’s Society of CPA’s.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Eugene McDonald

A 33 year veteran in the field of security, Mr. McDonald has been involved in all facets of the private security industry which includes transportation, entertainment, commercial and nuclear security. Mr. McDonald is an active member of Buildings and Owners Management Association, American Society of Industrial Security, Connecticut Police Chiefs Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police, The Institute of Nuclear Materials Management and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development
James P. Flanagan, CFE

Mr. Flanagan’s 30-year career began with the Andover Township Police Dept., where he served for 3 years. He began his employment with SOS in 1979. He is a licensed Private Investigator in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Nevada. Mr. Flanagan is the Director of Human Resources and presently oversees SOS’s West Coast Operations. He is a member of The International Association of Chiefs of Police, The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and The American Society for Industrial Security.

Scott B. Alswang

After 20 years in the United States Secret Service, Mr. Alswang retired as the assistant to the special agent in charge of the New York office of the United States Secret Service. In his service he protected every U.S. president from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush and also conducted protective advances for almost every major foreign head of state that visited the United States of America. Mr. Alswang began his career as a Police Officer in West Orange, New Jersey. Mr. Alswang graduated from William Paterson University with a BS in Public Safety Administration and completed a MA in Criminal Justice at City University of New York’s John Jay School of Criminal Justice.
Vice President / Regional Director
Gary T. Egan

Gary Egan is a law enforcement professional with 27 years experience with the Newark Police Department. Gary retired as the commanding officer (Captain) of the South Police District. He holds 14 years of security services management with extensive Asset Protection, Investigation experience and Executive Protection, specializing in aviation and corporate security environments. Gary is an active member of ASIS and numerous law enforcement organizations and a New York State, and New Jersey State certified security guard instructor and former Police Academy instructor.
Senior Vice President / Midwest Operations
Martin L. Davis

Martin Davis began his career with SOS Security back in 1989 as a Part Time security officer. During Martin’s several years he was able to rise through the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Martin began to expand his business knowledge in all aspects of the security industry. His dedication and performance lead him to a Branch Manager position and within a couple of years a Regional Manager, handling several branches within NJ and PA. Martin was given the opportunity to head up the HR Department for SOS Security Incorporated. At this level Martin was able to get involved in benefits, unemployment, workers compensation, EEOC, and a litany of other Human Resource functions. Currently, Martin is in Chicago, Illinois where he is the Senior Vice President reporting directly to the CEO.

Christopher N. Walsh

Christopher Walsh holds a M.A. Degree (Education) from Seton Hall University, B.S. Degree (Administration of Justice) from Rutgers University, A.S. Degree (Criminal Justice); Law enforcement professional with 25 years experience, retiring as Patrol Division Commander (Lieutenant); Honor Graduate of West Point Leadership and Command Program and Lead Instructor (NJSACOP); Certified Police Instructor; 10 years experience in Private Security and Management, including retail, hospitality and labor management strike security. Chris is also New York State and New Jersey State certified security guard instructor.
Regional Vice President
James D. Ventola

James Ventola holds a B.A. Degree from Keane University, 28 years experience in Law Enforcement, including Detective for Newark Police, Detective for Essex County Prosecutors Office and Special Agent for the United States Secret Service. Assigned to the Newark field Office – Shift Leader, Assistant Detail Leader and Presidential Protective Division. James has 10 years experience in Private Security Senior Management and is a New York State Certified Security Guard Instructor.
Director of Human Resource
George Goodwin

George is a veteran of the HR field having been the Director of Human Resources for over 22 years at a large privately held, multi-location manufacturer where he dealt first hand with employee matters, as well as with the design and development of HR related metric reporting. Previous responsibilities include Director of Credit, Operations, Intellectual Property Management, Safety, Security, Building Maintenance, and twenty years in the field of Human Resources. George has a college degree from Montclair State University and is a member if the Society of Human Resource Management.
Operations Manager/Special Services
David M. Cuomo

David Cuomo is a law enforcement professional with over 29 years experience with the East Orange and the Millburn Police Departments. David retired as the Detective Bureau Commander holding the rank of Detective Lieutenant. Overseeing and investigating both adult and juvenile related crimes. His responsibilities included Crime Prevention, Bias Crime and Community Relations. He was a former Megan’s Law and Counter Terrorism liaison currently holding Incident Command Certifications 100,300, 700 and WOMD Training/certifications.

David initiated and coordinated the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program in the private and public schools in Millburn Township and held that position for 15 years until his retirement.

He is currently a member of Special Investigators of the Greater Newark (SIGN) and the Narcotics Officers Association.

Jose F. Sandoval, President Sandoval Consulting Group LLC

For the last 20 years, Jose F. Sandoval has enjoyed a distinguished career in corporate security, loss prevention, retail management and recently brought that expertise to his own company. Before launching Sandoval Consulting Group LLC, Jose was the Director of Loss Prevention and Facilities for Elie Tahari. Prior to that in the wake of 9/11, Jose was Director of Corporate Loss Prevention for Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. He was also Director of Loss Prevention for Brooks Brothers. Previously, he held a variety of senior positions at the world renowned FAO Schwarz firms NY Flag ship store. At FAO Schwarz, Jose provided protection for all VIP/Celebrities and coordinated all special events.

Jose is also actively involved in the retail security community and law enforcement liaison. In 2001, he was appointed by the office of the Chief of Department of New York City Police as a board member for APPL which is known today as NYPD Shield. In this role, Jose chaired the efforts in building a synergy between the private sector (retail security) and public sector.

Jose has appeared on News Interviews by WNBC –Channel 4 News, as an expert in Security and Law Enforcement Partnerships, a Hispanic International Publication in the aftermath of September 11th, and was interviewed by producers of 60 Minutes on Organized Retail Crime Theft Rings.

Jose attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently a member of ASIS, BOMA and NRF.
