Edward B. Silverman, CPP, CIPM
Mr. Silverman has been the Chief Executive Officer of SOS for the past 32 years. He attended the University of Maryland, John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Backster School of Lie Detection. He is a licensed Private Investigator, certified Polygraph Examiner, and Certified Protection Professional. Since 1986, Mr. Silverman has been a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, International Security Management Association, World President’s Organization and the National Council of Investigation and Security Services. He is also former chapter chairman of New Jersey’s Young Presidents Association.
Kenneth M. Fisher
Mr. Fisher has over 30 years of financial, operations and general management experience working with public and private companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Fisher has worked at SOS since 2003. He earned a B.A. Degree from The University of Maryland and an M.B.E. from The University of California. Mr. Fisher is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California’s Society of CPA’s.
Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Barry A. Frank, Esq.
Mr. Frank has been the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of SOS for over 30 years. Mr. Frank graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. Degree and earned a J.D. Degree from Loyola University School of Law. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar, a licensed Private Investigator, member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and former PBA attorney.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Marc Bognar, CPP
Mr. Bognar has over 30 years of security management experience and has been instrumental in consulting, designing and implementing security solutions to Fortune 1000 companies both domestically and internationally. Mr. Bognar is a past Regional Vice President for ASIS International, leading four Chapters which comprise over 1,500 security professionals in NJ and Eastern PA. He has also served as Chair of the ASIS International RVP Strategic Planning Committee and is a member of ASIS International and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Mr. Bognar is Board Certified in Security Management and is tri-lingual. He obtained a B.S. in Business Administration from Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey, and an M.B.A. specializing in Global Business Management from APU, West Virginia. He is also a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy.
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Lochli has over 22 years of Information Technology experience, working with public companies across industries from Colocation/Outsourcing, Commercial Realty and Pharmaceutical/BioPharmaceutical. With a career spent architecting networks, supporting operations, communications and security, Mr. Lochli’s background includes but is not limited to Datacenter design, Network Architecture, Information Systems planning, development, support and systems integration, business continuity and disaster planning. Mr. Lochli has a background in security forces and terrorist tactics while serving eight years in the United States Marine Corps.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Gustafson has over 25 years of financial experience, which include public accounting, distribution and manufacturing. Mr. Gustafson holds a B.S. from the University of Scranton, is a Certified Public Accountant and a current member of both AICPA and the Knights of Columbus.
Executive Vice President, Chief Security Officer
A 36 year veteran in the field of security, Mr. McDonald has been involved in all facets of the private security industry which includes transportation, entertainment, commercial and nuclear security. Mr. McDonald is an active member of the Buildings and Owners Management Association, American Society of Industrial Security, Connecticut Police Chiefs Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Vice President, Human Resources
Leslie A. Watkins, SPHR
Ms. Watkins has worked as a professional in human resources for over 20 years. Leslie has held leadership positions, both domestic and globally in a variety of industries including high technology, retail and pharmaceutical. She has worked for small, medium and large companies in the areas of strategic planning, training and development, risk mitigation, talent acquisition, coaching and performance improvement. Over the span of her career, Leslie has proven ability in developing rapport easily with clients and staff at all levels of the organization and creating an environment conducive for learning, change and progressive success. Leslie received her B.A. from Iona College with honors and is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Leslie has always believed in serving others and provides group workshops, educational and career transition workshops to various nonprofit organizations.
Executive Vice President, Government Liaison
Scott B. Alswang
After 20 years in the United States Secret Service, Mr. Alswang retired as the assistant to the special agent in charge of the New York office of the United States Secret Service. In his service he protected every U.S. president from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush and also conducted protective advances for almost every major foreign head of state that visited the United States of America. Mr. Alswang began his career as a Police Officer in West Orange, New Jersey. Mr. Alswang graduated from William Paterson University with a B.S. in Public Safety Administration and completed an M.A. in Criminal Justice at City University of New York’s John Jay School of Criminal Justice.
Senior Vice President, Training Director and Special Services
Christopher N. Walsh
Mr. Walsh has 25 years of law enforcement experience and retired as a Patrol Division Commander Lieutenant. With over 10 years of private security experience he currently holds Security Officer Instructor certification in New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Connecticut. Mr. Walsh received an M.Ed. Degree from Seton Hall University, B.S. degree from Rutgers University and an A.S. Degree from Morris County College. He participates in national security seminars at the US Army War College and was also the lead Instructor for the NJSACOP West Point Leadership and Command program. As the Director of Training for SOS, he has developed specialized education and training programs which include consular/ dignitary protection, active shooter, emergency response, crisis management, executive/ close protection and theft prevention. As part of his role in the SOS Special Services Division, Mr. Walsh has conducted and supervised protection details for dignitaries and prominent individuals in and out of the United States, as well as providing personal executive protection for Fortune 500 business executives traveling abroad.
Senior Vice President/Chief of Staff
Ms. Manghisi is a retired Captain from the New Jersey State Police and a law enforcement professional with over 26 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience. Ms. Manghisi’s background reflects accomplishments in special operations, investigations, intelligence, undercover operations, security operations, training, policy and executive management. Prior to her retirement, she was a captain in the Special Operations Section and Emergency Management Section of the Homeland Security Branch. Ms. Manghisi also served as the Chief of Staff to the Superintendent. She has had a diverse career within the State Police and has been cited numerous times for her undercover work in both Organized Crime and Narcotics. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University and Thomas Edison State College.
Ms. Manghisi serves as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff for SOS at the SOS Security Headquarters in Parsippany, NJ.
