SOS Security, LLC, the nation’s fifth largest provider of security personnel, has acquired Chicago-based Premier and Apex3 Security.

For almost 40 years, Premier and Apex3 Security have provided dynamic security solutions to their clients in the greater Chicago area. Their focus on quality, accountability, technology and officer training has led to double-digit growth for more than six years. With a team of more than 1,300 employees serving high-profile commercial, healthcare, residential, retail and educational clients, Premier and Apex3 Security will continue to operate as sister companies under the SOS Security brand.

“Our acquisition strategy is to unite with like-minded companies, such as Premier and Apex3 Security,” said Edward B. Silverman, Chairman and CEO of SOS Security. “This allows us to bring resources and capabilities to critical markets and improve our ability to service our clients.”

Like Premier and Apex3 Security, SOS Security is directly involved in daily operations to support its clients. This approach, combined with best practices developed over nearly 50 years, allows SOS Security to provide superior service and consistently exceed client expectations.

“We are excited to join the SOS Security family,” said James Taff, CEO of Premier and Apex3 Security. “We will continue serving our clients with the core values that have made us successful in the past, only now as part of SOS Security, and we look forward to bringing added capabilities and operational resources to our clients.”

The Premier and Apex3 Security team will join SOS Security’s Midwest operations, led by Christina Duffey, Senior Vice President and Regional Director of Midwest Operations. Christina, who formerly served as a Vice President with Levy Security, before the name change to Premier, and is currently the ASIS International President-elect. “This is an exciting collaboration,” said Duffey. “Applying our combined talent, resources, and domestic and global capabilities will lead to new opportunities for our clients and employees.”

Taff joins SOS Security as Senior Vice President and President of the Illinois Region. Taff and his leadership team will continue leading growth in the Chicago market. Taff added, “We have reached this significant milestone due to the hard work and dedication of our employees. I am excited to embark on this new chapter as part of SOS Security.”
